AnimationActionAdventureSuperheroRelease Date March 20, 2024 Cast Jennifer Hale , Cal Dodd , Chris Potter , Catherine Disher , Adrian Hough , Ray Chase , Lenore ZannWhen X-Men: The Animated Series ended in 1997, it was arguably at the peak of its powers. A fresh style and thrilling action made for consistently entertaining viewing, with the choice to cancel the series a true shame. With that in mind, Marvel Studios decided to revive the series, even capitalizing on the strong nostalgia still felt in the fandom by setting the story as an almost direct continuation of its predecessor. The series follows a group of mutants unexpected by society who are brought together by the iconic Professor X (Ross Marquand), who takes each under his wing. Many felt that the show couldn’t get better than it was in the 90s, with X-Men ‘97 proving any doubters wrong. Brimming with intense storytelling and genius character development, the X-Men franchise has perhaps never looked better. To turn an expectant and sometimes hostile fandom into doting admirers is no mean feat, with the hopes of millions that this series will continue for many years to come. - Jake Hodges

Deeply dramatic and darkly comic, this is certainly one you won’t want to miss. - Jake Hodges

The Resident
DramaRelease Date January 21, 2018 Cast Matt Czuchry , Emily VanCamp , Malcolm-Jamal Warner , Bruce Greenwood , Jane Leeves , Morris ChestnutThe Resident is a Fox medical drama series that follows the lives of staff members at the fictional Chastain Park Memorial Hospital. Created by Amy Holden Jones, Hayley Schore, and Roshan Sethi, the series stars Matt Czuchry, Emily VanCamp, Manish Dayal, Shaunette Renée Wilson, and Bruce Greenwood, among others. Though largely panned by critics, The Resident proved to be quite popular with audiences during its six-season run on Fox. It’s very much a series for fans of TV medical dramas, though it does attempt to break out of the mold by focusing on the bureaucracy and greed of people in the medical world. While not 100% accurate to real life, the series shines a light on the darker side of the medical business, with doctors and patients who often fall below the ideals projected by other medical drama shows. The quality does dip towards the end, but for the most part, The Resident is an enjoyable series with great actors that explores some interesting aspects of the health industry in a way that most medical dramas don’t.
