Bridgeport Man Charged With DUI Six Hours Before Fatal Fairfield Crash

Brandon Dupee, 33, of Bridgeport, and his passenger, his sister, Lindsay Dupee, 31, of Stratford, were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on Sunfield Lane in Fairfield, police said. Both were former residents of Norwalk.

Brandon Dupee — who in 2011 split a $1 million lottery win with a 90-year-old neighbor in Norwalk — had been arrested at 7:19 p.m. Tuesday by Norwalk Police and charged with operating a vehicle under the influence and possession of a controlled substance. He was released later after posting $500 bond.

Norwalk Police had no more information available on the arrest.

Then shortly before 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, Fairfield police responded to a crash involving a black 2010 Honda Accord that slammed into a tree on Sunfield Lane after leaving I-95 northbound at Exit 21 for Mill Plain Road.

Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

In February, Dupee had been arrested on charges of third-degree trespassing and possession of less than a half ounce of marijuana after he refused to leave a Norwalk gas station because he wanted to buy scratch off lottery tickets hours after the service station had stopped selling them, according to The Hour.

It was after 3 a.m., and the clerk told him they stopped selling them hours before, The Hour said.

In January 2015 he had been charged by Norwalk Police with possession of less than four ounces of marijuana.

The fatal crash on Wednesday is under investigation by the Fairfield Police Crash Reconstruction Unit. Both victims’ bodies were released to the state medical examiner for further investigation.
