Brookville Area Little League president faces drug charges
BROOKVILLE -- The president of the Brookville Area Little League in Jefferson County faces drug charges for smoking marijuana.
Craig Griffin, 37, of Oak Street, is charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Brookville police said Griffin was seen by an officer on March 21 leaving Dirty Ehrma's Cornerside Tavern and retrieving an item from his vehicle before he lit a pipe.
The officer said he smelled marijuana when he approached Griffin, who apologized for smoking it.
Police said Griffin said he was at the tavern for a Little League event.
Police said he told officers that he “should just be let go” because he was president of the Little League and worked as a state corrections officer.
