Catherine Keener is an American actress best known for her work in Being John Malkovich (1999) where she played the character of MaxineLund, the love interest of her colleague Craig Schwartz (played by John Cusack), to whom she however did not not returned his affection for her. Her excellent portrayal of the character Maxine in this film, as well as that of Nelle Harper Lee in Capote (2005), earned her two Academy Award nominations for Best Supporting Actress.

The actress’ full name is Catherine Ann Keener, and she was born on March 23, 1959, in Miami, Florida. Catherine was born in a family of 5 children as the 3rd child. His parents are Evelyn (née Jamiel) and Jim Keener. She is of Irish descent on her father’s side and Lebanese on her mother’s side.
