KANSAS CITY, MO (CelebrityAccess) — International arts nonprofit and NEA-designated National Arts Service Organization Folk Alliance International, announced that Neeta Ragoowansi has resigned from her post as Executive Director of the organization to pursue other opportunities.
According to Folk Alliance, Ragoowansi’s departure was unexpected and was effective as of December 14th 2023. Following her departure, Jennifer Roe, the organization’s Deputy Director, will step up as Interim Executive Director while a permanent replacement can be identified.
Ragoowansi was named Executive Director of Folk Alliance in 2022 after the organization conducted a national search led by Arts Consulting Group and spent just over a year in the role. Before she joined Folk Alliance, Ragoowansi was founding head of artist-label relations for SoundExchange, and also held senior roles at The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and the National Symphony Orchestra Association, and served as a board governor at the Recording Academy for more than a decade.
“The Board of Directors would like to thank Neeta for her dedication and commitment to FAI throughout her year of service with us. We are truly grateful for her time here with FAI. She will be missed, but I’m sure she will stay a part of the FAI community for years to come,” the Folk Alliance said announcing her departure.
