Heidi Klum and Sofia Vergara received harsh criticism after faking pregnancy for April Fools' prank
Heidi Klum and Sofia Vergara are among those experiencing the negative consequences of pranking others after their “tacky” prank received mixed reactions.
April Fool’s Day is frequently the ideal opportunity to exact hilarious retribution on others through harmless pranks and jokes.
However, not everyone is successful at it.
Klum, 48, appeared to be pregnant, and Vergara, 50, blew a kiss to the German supermodel’s phony baby bump. Howie Mandel, Klum’s colleague is an America’s Got Talent judge, shared a photo of the moment on Instagram, writing, “Congratulations @heidklum. Co-workers. @sofiavergara and I are the first to know.”
Vergara then shared the same photo on social media with the caption, “I’m going to be an aunt!!” Klum eventually disclosed that her bump was a prosthetic, but the damage had already been done because the lighthearted prank offended many people.

At the same time, many individuals who had experienced infertility or miscarriages recognized the post as a joke and were not offended by it. “Meh. I went through 5 years of infertility, several miscarriages, and finally, fertility therapy to have a successful live birth. Pregnancy jokes don’t bother me […] I suppose I’m the outlier. “You don’t speak for all of us,” one user wrote.
