Legend of Zelda: Links Awakening How to Get Bananas
Throughout your journey in The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening remake for Nintendo Switch you’ll often find yourself looking for specific items. In fact, there’s an entire quest built around getting things and trading them to other characters. We’ll break down the full questline in another guide, but one of the steps along the way seems to cause the most trouble. To help here’s a quick guide on how to get bananas in The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening remake for Switch.
How to Get Bananas
The bananas are actually the fourth item in the entire trading sequence that Link will have to complete before finishing the game. They are required to proceed within the game, acting as a sort of key for Kanalet Castle, a mini-dungeon that houses the Golden Leaves that Prince Richard wants you to retrieve. Of course, the gate is closed and to get through it you’ll need the bananas, which are found elsewhere.
To get the bananas you have to first get the Yoshi Doll from the Trendy Game then trade that for the ribbon by taking it to Papahl’s house in Mabe Village. Once you have the ribbon you can head to the Chain Chomp in the dog house next to Madam MeowMeow’s house also in Mabe Village. Doing so will get you a can of dog food, which is the key to getting bananas. Take the dog food to Sale’s Banana Shop in Toronbo Shores near the beach. Speak with Sale and he will give you bananas in exchange for the dog food.
And that’s how to get bananas in The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening remake for Switch. The trade quest continues for awhile after this, but if you were stuck this guide should help. Check back for more on the trade quest and other things in Link’s Awakening later on.
