Man Charged After Larceny Spree In Glen Cove

Ten car larcenies occurred in August so far, many of these when the cars were left unlocked, according to the Glen Cove Police Department.

The incidents led police to beef up their patrols in the area. Overnight Friday, Aug. 23, seven vehicles were illegally entered on the Glen Cove side of Frost Pond Road, said police.

On Saturday, Aug. 24 at 11:05 p.m., police arrested a man they reportedly observed inside a vehicle on Elm Avenue in Glen Cove, according to police.

The man, identified as Kenneth Giambruno, who formerly lived in Glen Cove, was arrested and charged with attempted petit larceny. 

Police are investigating the other car larcenies.
