Sexual Assault Charges Allege Attack On 11-Year-Old In South Jersey: Prosecutor

John T. Gillespie previously was arrested on child pornography charges, according to Cape May County Prosecutor,Jeffrey H. Sutherland and Lower Township Police Chief Kevin Lewis,

The victim disclosed she had been sexually assaulted by Gillespie over the course of three years, beginning in February/March of 2020. This sexual assault investigation derives from a prior investigation involving Gillespie Jr. for possession of child pornography, Sutherland said.

Gillespie was subsequently processed for these additional charges on Friday, Feb. 17. 

He was being held in the Cape May County Correctional Center pending Court proceedings.
