Stolen Car Crashes On Garden State Parkway, Suspect Arrested: Holmdel PD
One suspect was in custody at about 8:20 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 14. "We are still looking for one or two additional suspects," Holmdel police said on Facebook. "One suspect may be wearing all black clothing with red sneakers."
At 2:07 a.m., Thursday, an officer observed a silver BMW exit the Garden State Parkway, onto Red Hill Road. The vehicle, which had been reported stolen from Orange (Essex County), immediately fled upon seeing the officer and subsequently crashed on Middletown Road, near the intersection of Crawfords Corner Road, police said.
Three men bailed out of the vehicle and fled on foot into a wooded area between Middletown Road and Crawfords Corner Road.
Holmdel officers, with assistance from officers from Middletown Police, set up a perimeter and began searching the area.
"We have no reason to believe that these individuals pose a threat to our residents but we ask that you avoid approaching them and contact HTPD immediately if you see them," the police department said.
