Steffy Stabs Sheila to Death
At the cliff house, the winds howl around the place at night as Steffy checks that the patio doors are locked. She hears strange creaking noises. In the bushes, Sheila watches and mutters, “Tonight you die, Steffy.”
At Il Giardino, Deacon asks a waitress if she’s seen Sheila. She hasn’t. He mutters to himself, “Where the hell are you?”
Liam appears. He’s there to pick up takeout. Deacon tells him there’s no hard feelings about him and Hope. He wishes him the best. Liam thanks him and lets him know he’s not a fan of dining in there lately because of Sheila. Deacon says she’s not there tonight. Liam quips, “Weekly meeting of Psychopaths Anonymous?” Deacon admits, “I don’t know where she is.”

Once Liam knows more, he’s glad Deacon told him since this involves his daughter. “Kelly could have gotten hurt.” Deacon argues that Kelly was never in danger and Steffy had no business confronting Sheila like that. She’s been focused on bettering herself. Liam informs Deacon that nobody believes that. He can buy into that narrative all he wants, but he can’t expect others to accept that she’s changed. What if he’s wrong? What if he’s sacrificing his relationship with his daughter for a woman who doesn’t give a crap about him? Deacon says he loves Hope and his grandkids. Liam invites him to prove it. He’s standing there telling him he doesn’t know where Sheila is, minutes after telling him she’s new and improved. It obviously concerns him because he’s worried she might be reverting back to her evil ways!
In his office, Finn types on his laptop, but pauses to flash to breaking up the fight between Steffy and Sheila at Deacon’s place. He recalls Sheila accusing his wife of wanting her dead. Hope appears and can sense something is weighing on him. Finn replies, “Yeah. My wife.” Hope doesn’t want to get in the middle, but is wonders if she can help in any way. She explains that she was there to pick up allergy drops for Douglas and spotted the expression on his face while passing his door. “You said it had to do with Steffy?” Finn nods, “Yeah. Steffy and Sheila.”

Once Hope’s heard the story, she gawps, “Steffy punched Sheila?!” Finn says Sheila shoved Steffy first. Hope protests that Sheila shouldn’t be anywhere near the kids. Finn doesn’t like that Steffy confronted Sheila. He doesn’t want her doing anything that could provoke his birth mother. He then muses that like it or not, Sheila has been good lately… considering her past. “Why poke the bear?” Hope guesses Finn’s worried that Steffy has over-stepped and awoken the sleeping sociopath that is Sheila Carter.
At the cliff house, Steffy’s eyes widen when she hears more strange noises outside. She walks to the patio door and looks out, frowning. In the bushes, Sheila watches as Steffy moves around the kitchen. She looks down at something in her hand. In the kitchen, Steffy looks up nervously as she hears another noise.
At Il Giardino, Deacon tells Liam that Sheila’s a free woman and can come and go as she pleases. Sighing, he admits that she’s been slipping away a lot lately. Liam questions if he’s asked where she’s been going — she’s probably over at Steffy’s watching them. Deacon insists that’s not it and reveals that Sheila claims that she has been meeting someone from her past. Liam scoffs that plenty of people from Sheila’s past must be clamoring to reconnect. Deacon concedes, “Point well taken.” Liam says the only thing from Sheila’s past she’s concerned with is the child she gave up. She’s obsessed with getting Finn into her life and Steffy out of it.
In Finn’s office, Hope gathers that he still thinks Sheila’s a threat. Finn can’t take her word for it that she’s reformed. They agree that she should be in prison. Finn is certain Steffy has PTSD from the shooting in the alley. Hope senses something specific is bothering him. Finn tells her, “Steffy said that the only way she will truly feel free of Sheila, is if she were dead.” He says that human life is valuable and important, even for someone like Sheila. Maybe there is potential for her… if she spent time in prison and had time to repent. “I don’t know, but seeing it from Steffy’s perspective, I can see how she sees that as the best solution.” Hope can tell this disturbs him; Steffy saying that about the woman who brought him into the world, “That she wants her dead.”
More: The B&B rewrite that’s total bull
At the cliff house, Steffy grabs a huge knife to chop vegetables. She continues to hear creaking and strange noises. Suddenly, the power goes out. Steffy’s eyes widen in alarm. With the huge knife in her hand she whispers, “Sheila? Sheila is that you?” A shadow moves across the wall nearby.
At Il Giardino, Deacon tells Liam that he specifically told Sheila to stay away from Steffy and Finn. He believes she heard him. Besides, why would she jeopardize the life she’s built with him? Liam tells him that whatever he and Sheila have going on, they both know she wouldn’t hesitate to kick it to the curb to have a relationship with her son. That is the single most important thing in her whole life, “And guess who she thinks is standing in the way of that right now? Steffy.” Deacon nods.
At the cliff house, Sheila lurks in the shadows as Steffy takes a call from Finn, hoping she’s relaxed. Steffy tells him there’s nothing relaxing about this night. It’s crazy outside and the power went out. She’s looking for candles, but it’s creepy. She asks him to come home soon. Finn won’t be long and can’t wait to hold her in his arms. They disconnect after expressing their love and Steffy continues searching. The door silently opens and Sheila steps inside, slowly making her way toward Steffy, who is digging in a cabinet. Steffy looks up, sees the shadow, stands, and turns to gasp, “Sheila! I know it’s you. Get out!” Sheila walks deliberately toward Steffy, who brandishes the butcher knife and warns, “I’ll do it!” Sheila lunges at her and Steffy plunges the knife into her heart. Steffy pulls the knife back out and Sheila slumps to the floor. Steffy, horror-stricken, drops the knife. Sheila coughs until she appears to stop breathing and die with her eyes frozen open.
