What Now After Westchester Pavilion Mall Project Stalls?

Publish date: 2024-07-09

A development to replace the mall, featuring two, 24-story residential towers was expected to bring up to 1,400 new residents to White Plains once completed. Instead, development has stalled as they await a new plan for the site from developers.

The plan called for the mixed-use development to include 707 rental apartments, 16,500-square-feet of restaurant space, 77,340-square-feet of retail space and 93,840-square-feet of commercial space. It was unanimously approved by the White Plains Common Council last February.

According to a lohud report, developers have told city officials they are redesigning the proposal, which will have to be re-submitted to the City Council. While the city waits, the space remains vacant at the intersection of East Post Road and South Broadway after the mall was demolished.
