World's Oldest Supermodel, 91, Stars in Celebratory Nude Photo Shoot
The upcoming issue of New You magazine will feature the world’s oldest supermodel, who has posed for the publication almost entirely naked.
In the most recent issue of the magazine, 91-year-old Carmen Dell’Orefice is featured alongside 69-year-old Beverly Johnson, who made history as Vogue’s first Black cover model in 1974.
Dell’Orefice can be seen lying down on a bed in one of the photographs that were taken during the photo shoot that accompanied the cover story. She is only seen wearing a pair of white underwear and a white blanket is wrapped around her chest.
It also transpired that the model had no qualms whatsoever about posing naked for the cover, stating to the publication as follows: “Just like working with acclaimed photographer Fadil [Berisha], it’s their perception of what they see in you or me.
“We are there, a synergy starts to happen, and they bring it out. It’s where their mindset is. The photographer’s mindset is high, not in the gutter. It’s all projection. We’re all silent actresses, and that’s what it’s about.”
When she was only 16 years old, the veteran of the fashion industry appeared on the cover of Vogue magazine for the first time. When she was last featured on the cover of New You, it had been nearly ten years.

The practice of self-love, as stated by Dell’Orefice, has been instrumental in assisting her in preserving her beauty.
“Men and women should care for themselves and love themselves. One of the secrets to maintaining beauty is doing what you do for a baby, nurturing and feeding the baby with love,” she said. “That’s what we should do with ourselves: nurture ourselves, love ourselves, and give that kind of energy to ourselves.”
The native New Yorker, who was born on June 3, 1931, kicked off her career as a model at the young age of 13, after being approached on a bus by the wife of a photographer named Herman Landschoff. The native New Yorker was born in New York.
Before she turned 15, she had already agreed to work for Vogue at a rate of $7.50 per hour under a contract.
“[Photographer] Irving Penn told me to try to breathe as little as possible and don’t move,” she said of her first Vogue shoot. “Just sit there. Irving was a really good friend to me.”
She has been featured in advertising campaigns for Sephora and Missoni, and she has walked the runway for Thierry Mugler, Moschino, and Isaac Mizrahi. Dell’Orefice is an unstoppable force in the industry, and she continues to be so.
In point of fact, the fashion icon claims that her career has been going from strength to strength ever since she reached adulthood. During an interview with New You in 2015, she stated: “I have had more magazine covers in the last 25 years than I have in my whole elongated career.
“Today I am in a territory that business considers unmarketable: age and white hair. Slowly, however, I started to own that territory little by little because I stood up for age.”
